About This Tour

A Journey Through Kenya’s Wild Frontier

The Northern Kenya circuit offers a more diverse, dramatic, and exclusive safari experience — combining flamingo-fringed lakes, endangered species conservation, rugged semi-arid wilderness, and authentic cultural encounters.

This immersive journey connects three of Kenya’s most remarkable wildlife regions:

Lake Nakuru National Park

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Samburu National Reserve

Together, they create a safari that is richer in ecological contrast and wildlife specialization than the classic southern circuit.

What Makes This Adventure Exceptional

Lake Nakuru National Park

Famous for its alkaline lake and dramatic escarpment backdrop, Lake Nakuru is one of the best places in Kenya to spot both black and white rhinos. The park also hosts Rothschild’s giraffes, tree-climbing lions, and seasonal flamingo populations that paint the shoreline pink.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Located in Laikipia, Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s leading wildlife conservancy and a global model for conservation tourism. It is home to the last two remaining northern white rhinos on earth and offers the highest density of black rhinos in Kenya. Night game drives and walking safaris provide experiences not permitted in most national parks.

Samburu National Reserve

Set along the life-giving Ewaso Nyiro River, Samburu is raw, dramatic, and authentically northern. It is renowned for the “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx — species rarely seen in southern Kenya. The landscape is rugged, wild, and far less crowded, offering a more intimate safari atmosphere.

Why Choose the Northern Circuit?

• Fewer crowds than the Maasai Mara

• Strong conservation and rhino experiences

• Unique species not found in southern Kenya

• Dramatic change in landscapes from lakes to semi-desert

• Exceptional photographic opportunities

• Cultural richness of the Samburu and Maasai communities

This 9-day expedition is ideal for returning safari guests, wildlife enthusiasts, conservation-minded travelers, and photographers seeking a deeper and more varied Kenyan safari experience.
